Totnes Castle is moving its annual Locals’ Open Day this year to be part of the Totnes Festival.  It is the perfect opportunity for local residents to come along, explore the impressive fortification and find out about the charitable work that English Heritage does to protect Totnes Castle and the other historic places in its care.

There will be guided tours of the castle running throughout the day, given by some of the site volunteers. They offer the perfect chance to connect with the heritage of the town and learn the fascinating story of the castle.  There will also be some children’s activities such as archery, and ‘design your own shield’ heraldry.  Wine tastings will be on offer and, of course, there will be ample time for those who simply wish to enjoy the tranquillity and nature within the site.

Guided tours at 11.30am and 2pm during the Locals’ Open Day.

Come join in the festivities and feel free to bring a picnic, or pop to one of the town’s fabulous selection of cafes to bring up a takeaway!
