The great feast day of St. Mary, celebrated in true Totnes style.
· Assembling on the Plain at 12 noon to process up the hill led by a figure of the Virgin Mother made specially by local artist Lu Christie.
· Participating in the opening of the Totnes & Bridgetown Festival in the Market Square 1.15pm
· Thence to the Pilgrim’s feast in St Mary’s churchyard with blessing of bread, raisin cakes and festival beer from 1.45pm.
· Food stalls
· Music
including the ethereal and mystical melodies of Hildegaard of Bingen sung in the church to mark its Matronal Festival.
